Description

Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? What are the challenges facing God’s word and His message in the world? They are undoubtedly many and varied, yet God laughs at it all, because His power is from generation to generation, and His word is established forever.

Discussion Questions

  1. Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? What is the role of atheistic ideas, false teachings, and false prophecies in resisting God’s work?
  2. What is the reaction of the One who sits in the heavens? What should our reaction be when we face opposition or insults to God’s image and His work?
  3. Who is the King of Kings who reigns on Zion, the mountain of God’s holiness, and how?
  4. Discuss the warning the prophet gives to the kings of the earth and why.
  5. “Blessed are all who take refuge in him” (verse 12). Who is the one the writer asks to appease, lest he be angry? What does this represent to the writer and, subsequently, to you?
  6. What does the Zion of the New Covenant (verse 6) mean in your personal life, and are there obstacles preventing the Son from reigning on the Zion of your life?
